Likoni MP Issues Kshs. 61.7 Million in Bursaries for 10,000 Students

Likoni Constituency member of parliament Hon. Mishi Mboko yesterday issued bursaries worth kshs61.7 million to over 10,000 students from the area for the current academic year.

The second term serving MP said the beneficiaries are students in both local and national day and boarding secondary schools, colleges, universities and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges in the area.

The MP also congratulated all Likoni Constituency secondary schools on the incredible and improvement on performance of the 2024 KCSE results. 

"I'm grateful to the work done by teachers, students, parents, and education officers who put all their efforts in the improvement that we witnessed in last year's KCSE results," said the MP 

Mishi also handed over two school buses to Shikaadabu Secondary School and Mishi Mboko sec school financed by the Likoni CDF. 

"Our commitment to revamp and modernise our education infrastructure to boost access, performance, and quality through the National Government - Constituencies Development Fund is commendable." Mishi added

During the event, Mishi was also accompanied by ODM Party National Chairperson Gladys Wanga, who is also the Governor for Homabay, Deputy Party leader, and Mombasa Governor, Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir, Migori County Women Rep. Fatuma Mohamed, Hon. Samuel Atandi MP for Alego Usonga, Hon. Beatrice Elachi MP for Dagoretti North, Hon. Roza Buyu MP for Kisumu West, and over 15 party Mombasa MCAs led by ODM Mombasa County Chairman Mohamed Khamis after attending the ODM party’s delegates meeting at YWCA ground in Likoni

According to Hon.Wanga, the meeting was focused on strengthening the ODM party’s grassroots structures, engaging with party members, and reaffirming ODM's commitment to the aspirations of the people

 "Engaging with the grassroots is at the heart of our movement.As we continue to strengthen our party, we remain committed to unity, inclusivity, and championing the aspirations of the people. ODM stands firm in its mission to build a just, prosperous, and democratic Kenya,' Wanga said.

Wanga's sentiments were echoed by the Governor of Mombasa Abdulswamad Nassir who affirmed that the ODM party will not be part of an agenda that is meant to destroy Kenya but will work with like-minded Kenyans to build the nation.

"As ODM, we will not be part of an agenda that is meant to destroy Kenya. We will work with like-minded Kenyans to build our nation.

Where help is needed, we will offer it. Where correction is necessary, we will pursue it, " Nassir added.
